Narragansett, Rhode Island

The Heartwell Cottage
The Heartwell Cottage is located in a quiet, residential setting,
nestled in the valley between Narragansett Bay and Pettaquamscutt (Narrow) River. A 2-3 minute stroll to a private beach adjacent
to a shady, grassy picnic area, offers swimming, building sandcastles, picnicking, or just relaxing and enjoying the serene
views of the river, woods, majestic sunsets, and a variety of wildlife, including an occasional deer gracefully roaming the
opposite shoreline. For the more adventurous, there is a path through the woods to Domenic Christoforo Park with tennis and
basketball courts, soccer and baseball fields, and a childrens playground. A half mile beyond is a breathtaking view of Narragansett
Bay, with the islands of Jamestown and Newport on the distant shore, and the home of URI Bay Campus (World Renown Graduate
School of oceanography, homeport of 185 foot oceanographic ship Endeavor, and the historic 1695-1894 Ferry landing). There
is ample parking here if you choose to drive and enjoy the beach, or launch a boat, canoe or kayak. The town of Narragansett
with its mile and a half sandy surfing beach, shopping, towers, movies, horseback riding, Casey and Canochett Historic museum
farms, canoe/kayak rental, lessons and tours, Jamestown to Newport Bridge, URI campus, Gilbert Stuart Homestead, Bonnet Shores
and more are within a 2-5 mile drive. Narragansett being 11 miles long by 2 miles wide means all points of interest are minutes
away, including the fishing port of Galilee and the Block Island Ferry. The Heartwell Cottage features two bedrooms with
one and a half baths, a large living room with games, TV and videos. A sunny, south east exposure deck overlooking fruit,
herb and flower gardens is a perfect breakfast spot, or enjoy the sound of the river breeze rustling through the bamboo on
the North West wrap around deck, a great spot to just relax and enjoy the grounds. The west deck invites shaded, cooler dining
with an additional grill and eating area. The fenced in yard offers ample room for children to safely run and play, a large
picnic table for painting, sorting through beach finds, or a good ol picnic. There are several sitting areas including a loveseat
nestled between the roses and blueberries, or a hammock for an afternoon nap.
